Royal Caribbean Unveils Year-Round Europe Cruises for 2028: What Casino Royale Players Need to Know

If you've been hoping for more variety in your European cruise offers, there's big news on the horizon. Royal Caribbean's expanding its footprint across Europe for the 2028-29 season, deploying seven ships and introducing year-round sailings in the region for the very first time. Rhapsody of the Seas leads the charge as the anchor for full-year operations, while six other ships—Explorer, Freedom, Liberty, Jewel, Mariner, and Odyssey of the Seas—will sail seasonal itineraries throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Canary Islands.

Crown & Anchor Society members can already lock in bookings before general public sales open on October 15, 2026. Rhapsody's deployment starts in May 2028 with seven-night summer itineraries out of Piraeus, Barcelona, and Lisbon, complete with overnights in places like Istanbul and Alexandria, as well as stops at the new Royal Beach Club Santorini. Come November, Rhapsody shifts to longer late-fall and winter voyages down to the Canary Islands, Morocco, and the Mediterranean.

What This Means for Casino Royale Players

For casino gamblers and loyalty members, this schedule shift creates some fantastic strategic opportunities:

  • Better Comp Value in Off-Peak Months: Year-round European sailing means winter sailings are officially on the menu. Off-peak months like late fall, winter, and early spring typically don't see the massive demand of summer peak season. That means lower point thresholds for casino certificate redemptions, easier comp availability, and better chances to convert tier offers into premium staterooms on ships like Rhapsody of the Seas.
  • Extra Gaming Time at Private Destinations: Rhapsody's summer itineraries feature stops at Royal Caribbean's upcoming Royal Beach Club Santorini. Remember, just like at Perfect Day at CocoCay, onboard casinos remain open while docked at Royal Caribbean's private beach destinations. You'll be able to grab some sun ashore and step right back onboard to squeeze in extra slot or table play while other ships would normally force the casino to stay dark at port.
  • Strategic Booking Window: While Oasis Class ships aren't on this initial deployment roster, popular options like Odyssey of the Seas and the Freedom-class sisters (Freedom and Liberty) will pull strong demand. If you're looking to turn your Casino Royale offers or annual tier cruise into a European vacation, you'll want to get with your casino host or call the Casino Royale desk early to secure prime cabin locations before general availability opens up.

Whether you're looking to earn points toward your next tier or redeem a complimentary certificate on an itinerary off the beaten path, having year-round European coverage gives us way more flexibility than we've ever had before.
